What is QR Code Tools?
QR Code Tools is a reliable toolkit for scanning, creating, and sharing QR codes. From everyday scans to building your own codes for links, contacts, Wi-Fi and more, it lets you work with QR codes effortlessly - fast, flexible, and designed with privacy at its core.
What can I create QR codes for?
Text, URLs, phone numbers, email, SMS, Wi-Fi credentials, locations, contacts, calendar events, FaceTime, FaceTime Audio and iOS Shortcuts - all from a single app. A live preview updates as you type, and every code you create or scan is saved to your history for easy reuse.
How do I scan a QR code?
Tap the Scan button and point your camera at a QR code - the content is recognized automatically. You can also pick a photo from your library and scan the codes in it. Links, contacts, Wi-Fi networks, locations and events are detected without any extra steps.
Can I customize how my QR codes look?
Yes. The style editor lets you pick a color for the code and its background, place an icon in the middle, or upload your own logo. Keep a strong contrast between the code and its background so it stays easy to scan, and export any code as a PNG image for print or sharing.
What are automation webhooks?
Every scan event can be sent to your own https endpoint as a JSON POST request, so you can hook scans into your own server or automations. A test request lets you verify your endpoint before enabling it.
Is my data private?
Yes. All data stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded or transmitted externally, and no account is required. Webhook requests are only sent if you explicitly configure them.
Do I need a subscription?
Scanning QR codes and viewing your history are available for free, including your first created code. Creating and saving more QR codes, exporting and sharing QR images, custom colors and logos, and automation webhooks are Pro features that require an active subscription.
Which devices are supported?
QR Code Tools works on any phone with a camera. Scanning requires camera permission, which is requested when you first open the scanner. Creating contact and calendar event codes can optionally use your contact list and calendar to prefill the form. FaceTime and Shortcuts codes are available on Apple devices.
How do I delete my data?
Since there is no account and everything is stored on your device, you can delete the app to remove all data instantly.
